The SGS 30355 is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in a wide range of materials. The cutting diameter measures 7/16 inches (0.4375 inches) with a 1 inch length of cut and an overall length of 2-3/4 inches. The shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 7/16 inches, fitting standard collet chucks and end mill holders in that size range. Constructed from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for demanding cuts. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the centercutting design allows for plunge milling as well as conventional peripheral cuts.
This end mill is suited for machining a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and titanium alloys, as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is a regular-length tool intended for standard milling applications in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow conventional CNC and manual milling machine setups. Licensed machinists and toolmakers typically deploy this tool in vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual Bridgeport-style machines.
Designed for use with standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 7/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, stainless steel, titanium, high-temperature alloys, and steel workpieces corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet nut or set screw is torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for chips or runout before engaging the workpiece.
