The SGS 30329 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of metallic and non-metallic workpiece materials. The cutter measures 15/64 inches (0.2344 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. Overall length is 2-1/2 inches. The two-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and clean sidewall finishes. Micrograin carbide construction provides edge retention and wear resistance in demanding cutting applications. This is a centercutting, right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration suitable for plunge entry and peripheral milling.
The SGS 30329 is suited for slot milling, profiling, and plunge operations in a wide range of materials. The primary workpiece material codes indicate compatibility with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum and other light alloys, steel, and high-temperature superalloys. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in both job shop and production environments where a small-diameter, short-run tool is required. The regular length and uncoated finish make it a straightforward choice for general-purpose work where coating is not specified.
Designed for use on workpiece material categories coded H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, steel, and high-temperature alloys. Part of the SGS Series 3 end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool must be secured in a collet or end mill holder rated for the 1/4-inch shank diameter, and the spindle must be fully stopped before tool changes. Verify runout at the tool tip after installation to stay within the tolerance requirements of the job. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures for cutting tool handling and RPM limits.
