The SGS 30194 is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. It features a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter, a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) length of cut, and a 1-1/2 inch overall length. The tool is coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), which extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the variable index geometry reduces chatter and vibration during cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention suitable for demanding applications. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The SGS 30194 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and cast materials. Its primary workpiece material codes cover hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, structural steel, and superalloys. The 1/16 inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine-detail slotting, profiling, and pocket milling where tight tolerances and small-feature geometry are required. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with a 1/8 inch diameter fits standard collet and chuck toolholding systems used in production and prototype machining environments.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with collets or chucks accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, structural steel, and superalloys as indicated by primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the full recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as runout is especially critical at small diameters.
