The SGS 30146 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 0.3594-inch (23/64) cutting diameter and four flutes, it delivers consistent chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in demanding machining environments. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient cutting action and reduced vibration. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance required for extended tool life in production and job-shop settings. This is a single-end tool intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines operated by machinists and tooling professionals.
This end mill suits a broad spectrum of applications, including profiling, contouring, slotting, and 3D surface milling. It is rated for use across multiple primary workpiece material categories, including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), high-temperature alloys (S), and hardened materials (H). The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate performs well in applications where coating compatibility or re-grinding without stripping is a consideration. The regular-length geometry fits standard toolholders in typical vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 3/8-inch shank toolholders. Compatible with material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per supplier-specified workpiece material codes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at rest before changing tooling. Secure the 3/8-inch shank in a clean, correctly sized collet or end mill holder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly for finish passes where dimensional accuracy is critical.
