The SGS 30145 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of metalworking applications. With a 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this tool is built for consistent performance in production and job-shop environments. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding cuts. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge operations as well as conventional slotting and peripheral milling. Licensed machinists and CNC operators will find this end mill well suited to regular-length milling tasks.
The SGS 30145 is suited for milling operations in materials categorized under primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium alloys, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and a variable index geometry, this tool is a practical choice for 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining centers as well as manual knee mills where a 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder is available. It is sold as a single-piece unit.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling compatible with straight-cylindrical shanks. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 3/8 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the end mill. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum insertion depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer to maintain rigidity and runout tolerances. Verify tool projection and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
