The SGS 30143 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. It features a 4-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle and a variable index design that helps reduce chatter and improve surface finish. The mill diameter is 0.3438 inches (11/32 inch) with a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The length of cut is 1 inch and the overall length is 2.5 inches. Constructed from micrograin carbide, this centercutting end mill handles both peripheral and plunge cuts. It is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials including steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length profile and straight shank make it a standard fit for vertical milling machines, CNC machining centers, and toolholders accepting 3/8-inch shank tooling. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction performs well in applications where coating compatibility or regrindability is a consideration.
Compatible with toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for use with primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to achieve full shank engagement and avoid runout. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and clamping torque.
