The SGS 30062 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, this four-flute tool delivers efficient material removal and fine surface finishes on complex contoured profiles. The AlTiN coating provides excellent heat resistance and wear protection, making it well-suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions at elevated speeds. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention across extended run times. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
The SGS 30062 is built for milling a wide range of materials, as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S - covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys. The single-end, regular-length configuration suits general-purpose 3-axis and multi-axis CNC applications including die and mold work, aerospace component finishing, and precision part contouring. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during profiling passes.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch tool holders on CNC machining centers. Compatible with workpiece materials designated H, K, M, N, P, and S per the supplier material code classification, including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous alloys, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm holder bore tolerance is compatible with the shank diameter tolerance of +0.00000 to -0.00043 inches to ensure proper runout. Verify tool projection and stick-out length against the programmed depth of cut before running the first part.
