The SGS 30036 is a single-end ball end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN, it delivers hardness and heat resistance at the cutting edge. The 0.0938-inch diameter and 0.2813-inch length of cut make it well-suited for tight-tolerance profiling, contouring, and finishing passes. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and variable index geometry promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in production or job-shop environments.
The SGS 30036 is designed for milling workpiece materials across a wide range of material groups, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous alloys, steel alloys, and high-temperature alloys (Primary Workpiece Material Codes H, K, M, N, P, and S). Its regular-length profile and 1/8-inch shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders commonly used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is a practical choice for slot milling, profiling, and 3D contouring at small diameters where rigidity and tool-life consistency matter.
Designed for use with standard 1/8-inch collet chucks and tool holders on CNC machining centers. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the SGS Series 1B product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify collet size matches the 1/8-inch shank before tightening; use a calibrated torque wrench and the holder manufacturer's specified procedure. Check runout after seating the tool to confirm it meets the tolerance requirements of the application.
