The SGS 30013 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. It features a 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch) cutting diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration delivers efficient chip evacuation at higher feed rates. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting harder workpiece materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances, with a mill diameter tolerance of +0.000/-0.002 inches and a shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001/-0.0004 inches. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in job shop and production environments.
The SGS 30013 is suited for milling operations on a range of workpiece material categories including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, heat-resistant superalloys, and titanium alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The regular-length configuration fits standard tool holders in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Variable index flute spacing helps reduce harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank tool holders. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S per the input specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the recommended length of cut; extended overhang beyond the stated 1 inch LOC increases deflection and reduces tool life.
