The SGS 30003 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built with four spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers clean, efficient material removal across a range of workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life in demanding cutting conditions. At 13/64 inch (0.2031 inch) in diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length, this is a compact, short-reach tool suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. Micrograin carbide construction supports rigidity and edge retention at higher feeds and speeds.
This end mill is built for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility when starting cuts mid-workpiece. The variable index design reduces harmonic chatter, which is especially valuable in thin-wall or close-tolerance work. Per the workpiece material codes provided, this tool is rated for use on hardened materials, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous materials, steel, and heat-resistant superalloys. A 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems commonly found in these setups.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Confirm collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before seating the shank, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Avoid side-loading or interrupted cuts that exceed the tool's rated length of cut, and do not use this tool on operations requiring climb milling without verifying machine and fixturing rigidity.
