The SGS 09719 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.078-inch cutting diameter with a 0.117-inch length of cut and a three-flute geometry that balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The 30-degree right-hand spiral helix and right-hand cutting direction make it suitable for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from micrograin carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill is built for rigidity and dimensional accuracy at small diameters. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and precision tool-and-die operations where small-diameter cutting is required. The long-series overall length of 2.5 inches provides extended reach for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in confined features. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pilot hole. Typical users include machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision job shops working in aerospace, automotive, medical device, and general manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures for small-diameter end mills. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and undamaged before seating the shank to maintain runout tolerances. At this diameter, excessive overhang or side loading increases deflection risk — use the minimum required reach. Always verify spindle RPM and feed rate settings against the toolmaker's recommended cutting data for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
