The SGS 09290 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in tight-tolerance machining operations. With a 1.1 mm cutting diameter and a 4-flute configuration, this tool delivers fine detail work and smooth surface finishes in small-bore and micro-machining applications. The AlTiN coating provides enhanced heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for machining hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and other ferrous alloys where coating performance and carbide hardness matter. The micrograin carbide substrate supports sharp edges on a small-diameter tool, making it appropriate for mold work, intricate part features, and precision component manufacturing in both job shop and production environments. Its single-end, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collet systems accepting a 3 mm shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended grip depth and torque the collet nut per the collet system manufacturer's specification. Inspect the tool for chips or edge damage before each use, particularly given the small diameter.
