The SGS 07398 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related electronic assembly work. Built to Series 105 heavy-duty specifications, it features a 130-degree four-facet point geometry that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking on hard or layered substrates. The uncoated carbide construction delivers sharp, clean cutting edges straight from the tool. With a 3.15 mm (0.1240 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/8 inch (3.18 mm) shank, this bit is sized for standard CNC drill spindles and high-speed manual drilling equipment commonly used in electronics manufacturing and repair environments.
This bit is suited for precision drilling operations in electronics fabrication shops, prototyping labs, and production environments. The 30-degree helix angle and regular spiral flute configuration support efficient chip evacuation in materials common to circuit board assemblies. It handles a broad range of substrates including fiber-reinforced polymers, plastics, aluminum, copper alloy, stainless steel, nickel, cobalt alloy, cast iron, and titanium. The tapered web configuration adds rigidity for consistent hole quality across high-cycle production runs.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or production-use drill bit for standard 1/8 inch shank CNC circuit board drilling machines and compatible manual drill presses used in electronics fabrication and PCB prototyping applications.
Installation and operation of this bit should be performed by qualified machine operators or electronics fabrication technicians familiar with high-speed drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle and chuck are fully de-energized and at rest before inserting or removing the bit. Verify chuck runout and bit seating before beginning a drilling cycle, as carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
