The SGS 07340 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related electronic manufacturing applications. With a 1.55 mm (0.0610 inch) cutting diameter, a 130-degree four-facet point, and a regular spiral flute configuration at a 30-degree helix angle, this bit delivers clean, accurate holes in thin and layered materials. The shank measures 3.18 mm (0.125 inch) in diameter, and the overall length is 38.10 mm (1.5 inches). The tapered web construction and two-flute design support chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup during high-cycle drilling operations. This tool is intended for use by machinists, PCB fabricators, and precision manufacturing technicians.
The SGS 07340 is suited for drilling circuit board substrates and a range of engineering materials including aluminum, cast iron, copper alloy, stainless steel, titanium, cobalt alloy, nickel, plastics, and fiber-reinforced polymers. Its uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern. It performs well in both manual precision drilling setups and CNC drilling machines configured for small-diameter tooling. The heavy-duty grade designation indicates suitability for demanding, production-rate drilling environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill bit for precision CNC drilling machines and manual drilling stations that accept a 3.18 mm (0.125 inch) straight shank tooling.
Installation and use of small-diameter carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or PCB fabrication technicians familiar with appropriate spindle speeds and feed rates for carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation to prevent runout. Carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage from lateral loading or improper clamping — avoid side pressure during setup. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before and after use to confirm the bit is free of chips or fractures.
