The SGS 03664 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.093 inch cutting diameter and a 0.14 inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature machining. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments, making it well suited for hardened steels, stainless steel, and exotic alloys. Micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for high-speed applications.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. Its 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank and 3 inch overall length fit standard collet systems. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can plunge as well as cut laterally. Machinists working on die and mold work, aerospace components, medical parts, and precision mechanical assemblies will find this tool applicable to fine slot milling, profiling, and contouring operations in confined geometries.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with collet systems accepting a 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the collet and holder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the specified h6 tolerance fit. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type. Proper coolant or air-blast chip evacuation is recommended to protect the AlTiN coating and maintain tool life.
