The SGS 00875 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.095-inch cutting diameter and a 0.285-inch length of cut, this tool handles tight-radius contouring, slotting, and profiling work where accuracy is critical. The 2-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Manufactured from micrograin carbide in an uncoated finish, the 00875 is suited for use in high-speed machining centers and manual mills. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in tool-and-die, mold making, and precision parts production are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
This ball end mill is built for light-duty, small-diameter milling tasks in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The single-end configuration and right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard vertical machining centers and CNC routers. Its 1/8-inch shank diameter fits common collet chucks and end mill holders found in most shop setups. The regular length designation and compact 1.5-inch overall length provide rigidity during operation, reducing deflection in precision work. Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production ball end mill for use in standard CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar equipment accepting a 1/8-inch shank. Part of the SGS Series 1625 tooling line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing end mills. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate collet or end mill holder to secure the 1/8-inch shank to the manufacturer-recommended clamping torque for the holder in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to maintain tolerance on the +0.0000 to -0.0008-inch diameter tolerance specification.
