The SGS 00833 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.027-inch cutting diameter and a 0.081-inch length of cut, this tool is built for micro-milling work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and edge retention needed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for a wide range of general-purpose machining scenarios. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC mills or manual vertical mills will find this a reliable single-end tool for detailed slot, profile, and plunge operations.
The SGS 00833 fits residential and commercial machine shop environments and is well suited for applications requiring fine-detail work on metals, plastics, and composites. The 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank allows it to seat directly in standard collet chucks or end mill holders sized for 0.125-inch shanks. The 1.5-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid and minimizes deflection during light-to-moderate cuts. It is a single-end, non-centercutting-configured tool engineered for right-hand cutting direction, consistent with Series 1610 standard geometry from SGS.
Designed for use in standard CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the SGS Series 1610 square end mill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following established toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as even minor misalignment is magnified at this diameter.
