The SGS 00573 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built on the Series 1810 platform, this single-end tool features a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) mill diameter and four right-hand spiral flutes that deliver efficient chip evacuation and a clean finish on each pass. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 15/64 inch length of cut, this tool is sized for close-tolerance work in tight pockets and shallow slots.
This end mill suits production and job-shop machinists running CNC machining centers or manual knee mills where small-diameter precision cutting is required. The 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in light-duty spindles. The bright uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, brass, and similar non-ferrous alloys, as well as softer steels where a coated tool is not required. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collet chucks or end mill holders accepting straight-cylindrical shanks.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder before tightening to the tool manufacturer and machine builder torque guidelines. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for chips or runout before each use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
