Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle at a complete stop and locked out per applicable machine guarding procedures. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet and verify runout before beginning a cut, as excessive runout at this diameter will cause immediate tool failure. Feeds, speeds, and depth of cut must be appropriate for the 0.01 inch diameter; consult the manufacturer's cutting data for the specific workpiece material. Micro-diameter end mills are fragile and should be handled carefully to prevent chipping the cutting edges before use.
