The SGS 00358 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool features a 0.065-inch cutting diameter, a 0.098-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with two right-hand spiral flutes. The stub-length configuration and 1/8-inch shank keep the tool rigid in close-clearance setups. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. This end mill is uncoated and suited for applications where base carbide substrate performance is preferred or where post-coating would reduce edge sharpness at this micro diameter.
The SGS 00358 is intended for micro-milling operations in tool rooms, production shops, and precision machining cells. Its 0.065-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work, small slot cutting, and contour milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-change procedures for CNC or manual milling equipment. Use a calibrated torque wrench on collet nuts and inspect the shank for runout after seating, as micro-diameter end mills are sensitive to even minor runout at this diameter. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards before operating at elevated spindle speeds.
