The SERVICE METAL ss910 is a 10-inch carbon steel butt weld short radius 90-degree elbow designed for industrial and commercial piping systems. This fitting redirects flow at a 90-degree angle using a short radius bend, which requires less linear space than a long radius alternative. At 56.30 pounds, this is a heavy-duty fitting suited for high-pressure or high-temperature piping runs. Licensed pipefitters and plumbers install this type of fitting in carbon steel piping systems where space constraints or structural routing demands a compact directional change.
The ss910 short radius 90-degree elbow is used in commercial and industrial piping applications including process piping, HVAC hydronic systems, steam lines, and mechanical room installations. Short radius elbows are selected when installation space is limited and the tighter bend radius is acceptable for the flow velocity and pressure conditions of the system. The butt weld end connection makes this fitting appropriate for fully welded, leak-tight piping assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 10-inch nominal carbon steel butt weld piping systems in commercial and industrial applications.
Installation must be performed by a qualified pipefitter or certified welder in accordance with applicable codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3 for pressure piping systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting out any existing fitting or preparing the weld joint. Butt weld fittings require proper end preparation, alignment, and qualified weld procedures. Do not apply heat to a pressurized or fluid-containing line.
