The SERVICE METAL sol.75x36-1.5 is a forged carbon steel Sockolet fitting rated at Class 3000, designed to create a branch connection from a run pipe onto a smaller outlet pipe using a socket weld end connection. Manufactured to ASTM A105/ASME SA105 material specification, this fitting accepts a 3/4 inch outlet and is compatible with run pipe sizes ranging from 1-1/2 inches to 36 inches. The Schedule 80S / Extra Heavy wall thickness suits demanding pressure applications in industrial piping systems. Licensed pipefitters and pipe welders install these fittings on high-pressure steam, process, and utility lines.
This Sockolet is built for industrial and commercial piping systems where a forged branch outlet fitting is required on carbon steel pipe. It is well-suited for power piping and pressure piping applications governed by ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3, as well as boiler and pressure vessel work under ASME BPVC Section I and Section VIII Division 2. The buttweld by socket weld end connection allows the fitting body to be butt-welded to the run pipe while the branch outlet accepts socket-welded pipe.
Designed for use on carbon steel run pipe with a minimum size of 1-1/2 inches and a maximum size of 36 inches, with a 3/4 inch socket weld branch outlet. Suitable for piping systems designed to ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME BPVC pressure codes.
Installation must be performed by a qualified, certified pipe welder following applicable code requirements under ASME B31.1 or B31.3 depending on the service. Depressurize and isolate the pipe system completely before cutting the branch opening and fitting the Sockolet. Both the butt weld to the run pipe and the socket weld at the outlet branch require proper fit-up, preheat as needed per material specification, and post-weld inspection per the governing code. Do not use this fitting in services or pressure classes beyond its stated rating.
