The SERVICE METAL so118 is an 18-inch Class 150 carbon steel slip-on weld flange with a raised face sealing surface. It is designed for bolted pipe connections in industrial and commercial piping systems where a reliable, pressure-rated joint is required. The flange slips over the pipe end and is secured with two fillet welds, one at the hub face and one at the bore. At 120 pounds per unit and a 25-inch outer diameter, this is a heavy-duty component suited for large-diameter pipe assemblies. Licensed pipefitters and industrial plumbers are the primary installers for this class of flange fitting.
This flange is used in industrial process piping, mechanical rooms, water treatment facilities, and commercial HVAC systems where 18-inch pipe runs require flanged connections rated at 150 lb class. The raised face profile is compatible with standard spiral wound or full-face gaskets used in Class 150 bolted flange assemblies. The slip-on style makes it a common choice for field fabrication where precise pipe cut length is difficult to control. This is an import fitting intended for general service applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general service slip-on flange for Class 150 carbon steel piping systems using 18-inch nominal pipe size.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or journeyman plumber in accordance with ASME B31.1 or B31.3 piping codes as applicable to the service. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line or removing existing flanges. The slip-on flange requires two fillet welds at the bore and hub face — do not use with a single weld only, as this does not meet standard practice for pressure service. At 120 pounds, this flange requires proper rigging, a pipe stand, or mechanical lifting assistance to position safely during fit-up.
