The SERVICE METAL 3mcplht01.5 is a forged carbon steel threaded half coupling rated for Class 3000 service. It is designed to connect a pipe end to a vessel wall, header, or fitting in high-pressure piping systems. Both connection ends are female threaded, conforming to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 thread standards, and the fitting is manufactured to ASME B16.11 specifications. At 1.5 inches nominal size and Schedule 160S construction, this half coupling is suited for demanding industrial and mechanical piping applications where pressure integrity and material strength are critical. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in carbon steel piping assemblies.
This half coupling is used in high-pressure piping systems found in industrial facilities, commercial mechanical rooms, and process piping installations. It is appropriate for applications requiring Class 3000 rated forged fittings in carbon steel piping runs. The straight, half-coupling configuration allows a branch or pipe end to be threaded directly into a tapped opening or mating fitting. It is commonly installed by pipefitters and journeyman plumbers working on Schedule 160 carbon steel piping systems that demand full ASME B16.11 compliance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Class 3000 forged carbon steel threaded piping systems built to ASME B16.11 standards at 1.5 inches nominal pipe size.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or certified pipefitters in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes, including ASME B31.3 for process piping where required. Depressurize and isolate the piping system fully before making or breaking any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and torque to the fitting manufacturer and code requirements without over-tightening. Inspect threads for damage before installation to ensure a leak-free, pressure-rated joint.
