The SERSUAMR ser6-6-6-61000r is a Type SER aluminum round service entrance cable supplied on a 1000-foot reel. It is built with four solid 6 AWG aluminum conductors insulated and jacketed in gray PVC, rated for 600 volts and a maximum temperature of 90 degrees C. This cable is used to feed residential service panels, subpanels, and metered disconnects. Licensed electricians install it per NEC Article 230 and Article 310 requirements. The 1000-foot reel length suits contractors running multiple circuits or larger service installations from a single spool.
Type SER cable is a standard choice for residential and light commercial service entrance and panel-feed applications. The aluminum conductors reduce material cost on larger runs without sacrificing code-compliant current capacity. At 60 degrees C, the cable carries 40 amps per conductor; at 75 degrees C, 50 amps; and at 90 degrees C, 60 amps. The gray PVC jacket is suitable for dry and damp locations as permitted by applicable code. Electricians running branch-circuit feeders to detached garages, workshops, or secondary panels commonly specify SER cable in this configuration.
Designed as a standard Type SER service entrance cable for use in residential and light commercial panel-feed and service entrance installations where 6 AWG aluminum conductors at 600 volts are specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Shut off and lock out the utility service or upstream disconnect before terminating any service entrance conductors. Use aluminum-rated terminal lugs and apply anti-oxidant compound at all aluminum conductor terminations to prevent corrosion and ensure a reliable connection. Do not exceed the conductor ampacity limits defined by the installation temperature rating and conduit fill conditions.
