The SELLSTROM S38150 is a face shield headgear assembly designed for industrial and construction environments where eye and face protection from impact, sparks, and chemical splash is required. The unit combines a blue nylon headgear with a 6-inch by 19-inch polycarbonate window, providing wide-angle coverage across the full face. The window carries a scratch-resistant coating and a shade 5 tint, making it suitable for tasks involving light-intensity radiant energy such as torch work or cutting operations. A ratchet adjustment mechanism at the rear of the headgear allows for tool-free sizing across a range of head sizes. A chin protector is included in the package.
This headgear assembly is used in industrial, manufacturing, and construction settings by electricians, welders, pipefitters, and general trade workers who require face protection beyond what safety glasses alone provide. The extra-wide, extra-large window dimensions provide enhanced peripheral and lower-face coverage compared to standard-width shields. The shade 5 lens makes this unit appropriate for light cutting, brazing, and torch operations where full arc welding shades are not required. It is not vented, which provides additional protection against liquid splash and airborne particulates.
Designed as a face shield headgear assembly meeting ANSI Z87.1-1989 and CSA Z94.3-M88 requirements. Suitable for use as a standalone headgear unit in applications requiring shade 5 face protection.
This face shield headgear is donned and adjusted by trained workers prior to beginning face-hazard tasks. Inspect the window for cracks, deep scratches, or discoloration before each use and replace if optical clarity is compromised. The ratchet adjustment should be set to a snug, stable fit before work begins. Follow applicable OSHA 29 CFR 1910.133 or 1926.102 personal protective equipment requirements for the specific task being performed.
