The SECO 74095073 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer part number APEX160408FR-E07. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert features an 85-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 18 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style designed for efficient chip formation. With two cutting edges and an E07 chip breaker, it is built for milling applications where clean, controlled cuts on non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and superalloys are required. The uncoated, bright finish makes it well-suited for fine-grain carbide grades where coating is not desired. Machinists and tooling professionals install this insert into compatible milling cutter bodies using a screw-holding method.
This insert is designed for use in milling operations on non-ferrous metals as the primary workpiece material, with secondary compatibility covering cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The right-hand cutting orientation and APEX-16 series designation make it applicable to precision face milling, shoulder milling, and similar operations in both production and job-shop environments. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-16 and R220.69-16 per the manufacturer specifications. The insert size code is 160408.
Compatible with SECO APEX-16 series milling cutter bodies R217.69-16 and R220.69-16. Intended for use on non-ferrous metals, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials. ANSI and ISO code: APEX160408FR-E07.
This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screw to secure the insert in the cutter pocket, and inspect the pocket seat for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow ISO standards and applicable shop-safety procedures when handling carbide inserts, as edges are sharp.
