The SECO 74079754 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SEKR1203AFTN-ME10 and manufactured to grade F40M. This square, single-sided insert features a 90-degree included angle, four usable cutting edges, and a neutral hand orientation. It is ground with a positive rake angle of 20 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and an ME10 chip breaker geometry. The PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating delivers thermal resistance and wear life suited to interrupted cuts and high-speed milling passes. It seats in wedge-clamp toolholders and is compatible with the R220.13-12 cutter series.
This insert is designed for milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Its fine-grain carbide substrate and PVD coating make it well-suited to both roughing and semi-finish passes where consistent edge integrity across multiple materials is required. Typical installations include face milling, shoulder milling, and pocket milling operations on machining centers in production and job-shop environments. The ME10 chip breaker geometry manages chip evacuation effectively at moderate to high feed rates. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces before engaging the wedge clamp, and verify secure clamping torque per the cutter body manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage that could prevent full seating. Worn or chipped inserts should be indexed or replaced promptly to avoid uncontrolled cutting forces.
