The SECO 74077169 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation OFER070405TN-ME10 in the OFER-07 series. This single-sided, octagon-shaped insert features 8 cutting edges with a positive rake geometry and a T-Land cutting edge style, delivering efficient chip evacuation during face and shoulder milling operations. The TiAlN and TiN coating is applied via PVD process, optimizing hardness and thermal resistance. At 0.1795 inches thick and 0.7063 inches wide inscribed circle, it is sized to work in R220.43-07 series cutter bodies. The ME10 chip breaker geometry supports productive cuts in a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC machine operators are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The primary workpiece material classifications are P, K, and S per ISO material coding, with secondary classifications K and N. It is intended for use in milling centers performing roughing to semi-finishing passes where consistent edge life and chip control are required. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.2795 inches, and the effective cutting edge length is 0.2921 inches, making it practical for moderate to aggressive material removal in both horizontal and vertical machining center setups.
Designed for use with the R220.43-07 cutter series. Suitable as a replacement or refill insert for OFER-07 series tooling bodies. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; package quantity is 1.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Before replacing inserts, power down and lock out the machine spindle per applicable shop safety and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and secure using the wedge clamp per the cutter body manufacturer torque guidance. Inspect the pocket seating surface and clamp components for wear or damage before loading new inserts.
