The SECO 74072195 is a replacement anvil designed for indexable toolholder assemblies. The anvil seats beneath the cutting insert to protect the toolholder pocket from damage and distribute cutting forces evenly during machining operations. This anvil is sized for a 0.75 inch insert inscribed circle (IC) and carries a thickness of 3/16 inch. It is compatible with toolholder insert size code 6,32,40-6 and uses the S-68 anvil screw for secure retention. Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians during insert changes or scheduled toolholder maintenance.
This anvil is suited for use in turning and boring toolholders that accept 0.75 inch IC indexable inserts. It is a direct-fit seat component for holders following industry standard number 19035. Typical applications include CNC lathe and manual lathe tooling setups where indexable carbide inserts require a rigid, replaceable seating surface to maintain insert positioning and extend holder life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement anvil for indexable turning toolholders accepting a 0.75 inch IC insert, toolholder insert size code 6,32,40-6, and S-68 anvil screw, per industry standard 19035.
Anvil replacement is a standard toolroom task performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before servicing, ensure the machine is in an E-stop or locked-out state per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Remove the existing anvil screw and worn anvil, seat the new anvil flush in the pocket, and reinstall using the correct S-68 screw. Do not overtighten the anvil screw; follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance where available.
