The SECO 74069559 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining operations. Carrying the ANSI and ISO designation 218.19-250T-06-ME12, this insert features a TiCN coating applied via CVD process and is manufactured to a T25M medium-grain carbide grade. The trigon (60-degree included angle) geometry provides three cutting edges per insert, extending tool life per indexing cycle. A positive rake angle of 20 degrees and T-Land cutting edge style reduce cutting forces and support clean chip formation. Thickness is 0.2500 inches and the inscribed circle measures 0.6512 inches. The ME12 chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip evacuation across a range of feed rates and depths of cut.
This insert is suited for milling applications in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. It fits into SECO 218.19-250 series milling toolholders that accept the 250T-06 insert size. Typical use cases include face milling, shoulder milling, and copy milling on CNC machining centers in both job shop and production environments. The neutral hand designation makes it compatible with standard right-hand tooling configurations. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use in SECO 218.19-250 series milling cutter bodies accepting insert size code 250T-06 with screw-style insert holding. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO P, M, and S classifications).
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the insert clamping screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage at each indexing interval. Do not mix insert grades or chip breaker styles within a single cutter body, as this creates uneven cutting loads.
