The SECO 74041167 is a replacement anvil designed for indexable toolholders used in metal cutting and turning operations. The anvil seats beneath the insert to provide a stable, rigid support surface, protecting the toolholder pocket from impact and wear during cutting. It is sized for a 0.5-inch insert inscribed circle and has a thickness of 3/16 inch. Compatible with anvil screw S-46 for secure retention. This component is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians maintaining indexable turning or boring toolholder assemblies.
This anvil fits indexable toolholders with insert size codes 24-4, 28-4, and 32-4. It is suited for use in production machining environments, job shops, and toolroom applications where indexable insert toolholders see regular insert changes and anvil replacement is part of routine maintenance. It corresponds to industry standard number 41167. Sold individually per package.
Compatible with indexable toolholders using insert size codes 24-4, 28-4, and 32-4 with a 0.5-inch insert inscribed circle. Anvil screw compatibility: S-46.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before replacing the anvil, ensure the machine is fully powered down and the spindle is locked out following applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Remove the existing anvil screw and worn anvil, seat the replacement anvil flat in the pocket, and reinstall using the compatible S-46 anvil screw. Do not overtighten the anvil screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque guidance.
