The SECO 74037300 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation SEEX09T3AFN-E04 in manufacturer grade F15M. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake of 25 degrees, and a 20-degree relief angle. The TiAlN and TiN dual-layer PVD coating targets hard material cutting applications where edge toughness and thermal resistance are critical. Four cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style extend service life between index cycles. The E04 chip breaker geometry and 0.0118-inch corner radius support stable chip formation in interrupted and continuous milling. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
This insert is engineered for milling hard materials, with secondary suitability for cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The fine-grain solid carbide substrate and PVD coating make it well suited for high-speed face milling, shoulder milling, and contour milling operations where workpiece hardness demands a tough, wear-resistant edge. It is sized at 3/8 inch inscribed circle with a 5/32-inch thickness, fitting indexable milling toolholders that accept the SEEX 09T3 insert seat format. Stated cutter series compatibility includes the R217.53-09 and R220.53-09 systems.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.53-09 and R220.53-09 milling toolholders that accept the SEEX 09T3 insert seat. Designed as an OEM-style indexable replacement for toolholders requiring an SEEX09T3AFN-E04 geometry insert.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect runout and edge life. Do not reuse damaged or deformed clamping screws.
