The SECO 74037297 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation SEEX09T3AFTN-ME07 in manufacturer grade T25M. It features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 22 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is CVD-coated in TiCN for wear resistance during demanding milling operations. With four usable cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it is designed for screw-held toolholders and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The ME07 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow effectively across these material categories. Its medium-grain carbide substrate and CVD TiCN coating provide thermal and abrasion resistance during high-feed or interrupted cuts in aerospace, energy, and general metalworking environments. The insert fits cutter series R217.53-09 and R220.53-09 per the manufacturer catalog.
Compatible with cutter series R217.53-09 and R220.53-09. The insert is identified by ANSI and ISO code SEEX09T3AFTN-ME07 and fits screw-clamped toolholders designed for the SEEX-09 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for debris or damage before each insert change.
