The SECO 74037195 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMP-MF1 series, designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining environments. This uncoated, bright-finish insert carries manufacturer grade 890 and features a trigon (W-shape) body with an 80-degree included angle and a negative rake geometry. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.3750 inches), with an insert thickness of 3/16 inches (0.1874 inches) and a corner radius of 1/32 inches (0.0315 inches). Six cutting edges extend tool life across multiple indexing positions. The MF1 chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style suit finishing and medium-duty turning applications in difficult-to-machine materials.
This insert is primarily rated for superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S, grades S10 and S20), with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials (ISO codes M, K, N, and H). Typical applications include turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers where tight tolerances and controlled chip formation are required. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a range of toolholder configurations. The WNMP-MF1 series is engineered to handle the elevated cutting forces and heat generation associated with aerospace-grade superalloys and titanium alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for toolholders accepting WNMP-style inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock retention. ISO equivalent designation is WNMG060408-MF1. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before indexing.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-recommended clamping hardware to seat the insert securely in the pocket; do not overtighten by hand or with improvised tools. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping components for wear or debris before installing a new cutting edge.
