The SECO 74034542 is a replaceable carbide milling tip designed for chamfering and center drilling operations in CNC milling applications. Built to the MM12 Minimaster series standard, this indexable tip features a 45-degree chamfer angle, a 90-degree included angle, and a 0.472-inch cutting diameter. The tool material is solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, which provides thermal resistance and extended tool life across a range of workpiece materials. With two flutes and a right-hand cut orientation, this tip is installed by machining professionals on compatible Minimaster-series holders for precision chamfering, spot drilling, and countersinking work.
This tip is suited for use on a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The M04 chipbreaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip evacuation in these material categories. Typical applications include chamfering drilled holes, preparing surfaces for fasteners, and producing countersunk features on machined parts. The tip is sized for the MM12 Minimaster toolholder system and is intended for use on CNC machining centers where repeatability and quick tip changes are required.
Designed for use with MM12 Minimaster-series milling toolholders. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
This replaceable tip is installed and serviced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing the tip, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is removed or locked out per shop safety procedures. Use the appropriate Minimaster torx key to seat and torque the tip according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.222 inches to avoid tip overload or premature failure.
