The SECO 74034268 is a carbide end replaceable milling tip designed for use in the Minimaster MM12 modular milling system. It features a 0.500 inch cutting width, two flutes, and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process for extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The insert carries grade T60M and is configured with a right-hand cut orientation and M04 chipbreaker geometry. With a functional length of 0.443 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.366 inches, it is suited for slotting operations where precise depth control and chip evacuation are critical. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This milling tip is intended for slotting operations performed on a wide range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits the MM12 series Minimaster tooling platform. The 90-degree lead angle and zero chamfer angle make it appropriate for full-width slotting passes where axial engagement equals the maximum depth of cut. The tip extends 0.443 inches from the holder when installed.
Designed for use with the MM12 Minimaster series modular milling holders. The full insert designation is MM12-0.500-M04. Verify holder thread and pocket geometry against MM12 series specifications before installation.
Milling tip replacement should be performed by qualified tooling technicians with the machine spindle fully stopped and the CNC control placed in a locked-out or E-stop state. Use the appropriate Minimaster torque key or insert wrench specified for MM12 pocket fasteners — do not use pliers or substitute tools that may damage the seating surface. Inspect the holder pocket for chips, wear, or damage before seating the new tip. Confirm runout and tool projection after installation before resuming cutting operations.
