The SECO 74034249 is a replaceable chamfer milling tip engineered for use with the Minimaster MM08 modular milling system. Manufactured from solid carbide with a T60M grade designation and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this tip delivers consistent performance in demanding metal-removal applications. The tip features a 60-degree lead angle and a 120-degree included angle, producing chamfered edges with repeatable geometry. With a cutting diameter of 0.315 inches and a functional length of 0.372 inches, it is designed for precision chamfering and light milling operations where tool life and surface finish consistency are priorities.
This chamfer tip is suited for machining a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits applications where a modular, replaceable-tip milling system is preferred over solid end mills, reducing tooling changeover time in production environments. Typical installations include CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers in job shops, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking operations. The right-hand cutting configuration and M03 chipbreaker are optimized for controlled chip formation during chamfering passes.
Designed for use with SECO Minimaster MM08 series modular milling holders. Insert size designation is 0.315-C120. Refer to the full tip description MM08-0.315-C120-M03 when selecting a compatible holder.
Installation of replaceable milling tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle powered down and the machine locked out per facility safety procedures. Use the appropriate torque wrench or tip-seating tool specified for the MM08 holder to avoid over-torquing the seating interface. Inspect the holder pocket for chips or debris before seating the new tip. Verify runout after installation before returning the tool to full cutting feeds and speeds.
