The SECO 74028698 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XCKX13T304R-ME10 in the XCKX-13 series. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 14 degrees, and a 7-degree relief angle. The insert is CVD-coated with TiCN for wear resistance in demanding cutting applications. Thickness measures 0.198 inches and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.3118 inches. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The ME10 chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip evacuation in medium-to-finishing milling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is intended for milling operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The right-hand orientation and screw-holding method suit standard side-lock insert pockets. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling passes where positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and heat generation. The T25M manufacturer grade is suited for medium-grain carbide substrate applications across a range of machine tool setups from light-duty finishing to moderate roughing cuts in ISO P, M, and S material groups.

Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle fully locked. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver specified for the insert pocket screw to avoid cam-out damage to the screw head. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Never force an insert into a pocket or overtighten the clamping screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer recommendation.
