The SECO 74019545 is a VBMT332-F2 series solid carbide turning insert designed for general turning, facing, back turning, and profiling operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces. It carries a TP40 manufacturer grade and is CVD-applied with a multilayer TiC, TiCN, and TiN coating for wear resistance across a range of cutting conditions. The 35-degree diamond insert shape provides a sharp, pointed geometry suited to profiling and finish turning. The F2 chip breaker and honed cutting edge style promote chip control and edge stability. Two usable cutting edges are available per insert, and the screw-held mounting method provides secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for use in CNC lathes and turning centers in production and job-shop environments. It is well suited to external and internal turning applications on steel and stainless steel, including finishing, medium, and light roughing passes. The VBMT-F2 series is a recognized ISO and ANSI standard insert geometry, making it compatible with the broad range of toolholders designed to accept VBMT 160408 style inserts. Machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, fabrication, and general machining shops are the primary users.
Designed for use in VBMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards for the VBMT 332 insert size code. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P group) and stainless steel (M group). Suitable for multi-use applications including turning, facing, back turning, and profiling.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or lathe operators using the screw-held mounting method; ensure the mounting screw is torqued according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify insert seating is flush and secure in the pocket before initiating a cut. Inspect the insert pocket and locating surfaces for chips or debris before each insert change. Follow all machine lockout and spindle-stop procedures before handling or changing inserts.
