The SECO 74017309 is a CNMG432-MR7 series indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer CVD coating of TiC, TiCN, and TiN. Designated grade TP40, this insert is engineered for negative rake cutting and features an 80-degree diamond shape with a T-Land cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches and the corner radius is 0.0315 inches. With four cutting edges per insert and compatibility with clamp, pin, and lever lock holding methods, it is suited for high-productivity turning operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working on steel and stainless steel applications are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is designed for use in boring, facing, and turning applications on primary workpiece materials including steel and stainless steel, corresponding to ISO material codes P and M. The MR7 chip breaker geometry controls chip flow during medium to roughing cuts.
