The SECO 74017050 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation APFT160448R-M13 and manufacturer grade T25M. Designed for indexable milling operations, this right-hand parallelogram insert features a CVD-applied TiCN coating over a medium-grain carbide substrate. The M13 chip breaker geometry and positive 15-degree rake angle work together to control chip flow and reduce cutting forces during interrupted and continuous milling passes. With two cutting edges per insert and a honed cutting edge style, it delivers consistent performance across steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician installs it using a screw-holding method into compatible SECO cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling applications in both production and job-shop environments. Primary material applications include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, and S. The M13 chip breaker is optimized for medium-grain cutting conditions typical in general machining and finishing passes. Compatible cutter series include the SECO R217.69-16 and R220.69-16 milling bodies. The insert seats securely via a center screw and is designated for right-hand cutter orientation.
