The SECO 74017035 is a carbide end replaceable milling tip designed for slotting operations in the Minimaster MM16 modular milling system. This right-hand tip features a 0.630 inch cutting diameter and a maximum depth of cut of 0.433 inches, making it well-suited for full-width slot milling in a compact tooling envelope. With two flutes and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, the tip delivers extended tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. The T60M grade designation and M06 chipbreaker geometry are engineered to balance edge strength with chip evacuation in demanding applications. Licensed machinists, CNC programmers, and tooling specialists are the primary users of this insert style.
This milling tip is intended for use in the Minimaster MM16 modular end mill system, where the replaceable tip threads directly onto a compatible MM16 shank holder. It is rated for slotting operations at a 90-degree lead angle with a functional length of 0.535 inches and zero corner radius, meaning it produces a sharp 90-degree shoulder. Workpiece material compatibility spans steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, S, and H. This versatility makes it appropriate for job shops and production environments running mixed-material schedules.
Designed for use with MM16 series modular milling shank holders in the Minimaster replaceable-tip end mill system. The tip conforms to ANSI standards and carries the full tip designation MM16-0.630-M06.
Installation of replaceable milling tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a locked-out state. Use the appropriate torque wrench or tip-installation tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten by hand. Inspect the mating thread and seating face on the shank holder for chips or damage before threading on the new tip. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
