The SECO 74016937 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built to ANSI and ISO standards under the 335.19-1207T-MD09 designation, this square insert carries a T25M manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied TiCN coating over a medium-grain carbide substrate. It measures 0.5000 inches in length and width with a thickness of 0.2756 inches. The negative rake geometry, T-Land cutting edge style, and MD09 chip breaker work together to manage chip flow and reduce cutting forces in difficult materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists install this insert into compatible face and shoulder milling cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, M, and S. The 335.19-12 series designation targets shoulder milling operations where consistent chip evacuation and edge stability are critical. The single-sided, screw-held design simplifies indexing during tool changes. With four cutting edges per insert and a neutral hand orientation, it offers balanced performance across a range of spindle configurations and part geometries encountered in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with SECO 335.19-12 series cutter bodies. Insert style designation 335.19-1207T-MD09 conforms to ISO standards and fits cutter systems specifying the 1207 insert size code with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any insert. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure — do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the carbide body. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface and shim for damage before installing a fresh edge.
