The SECO 74016539 is a carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a T25M manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer coating, delivering wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 0.098 inches in cutting width and 0.354 inches in overall length, with a neutral lead angle and neutral hand orientation. It belongs to the Series 150.10 platform and is intended for machinists and tooling technicians running high-production cutoff cycles.
This insert is suited for cutoff and parting applications where a universal primary workpiece material designation applies, meaning it performs across ferrous and non-ferrous materials in both production and job-shop environments. The Series 150.10 system is a dedicated cutoff tooling platform, and this insert slots into compatible 150.10-series holders. Chipbreaker designation 16 is integrated into the insert geometry. This is a single-insert package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in Series 150.10 cutoff and parting toolholders that accept the 2.5 insert size code. Confirm holder pocket dimensions against the 0.098 inch insert width and 0.354 inch overall length before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or clamping-screw driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert clamp. Inspect the pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw rather than applying arbitrary force.
