The SECO 74016527 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to Series 150.10 geometry, it features a 0.122-inch cutting width, a 0.008-inch corner radius, and a 6-degree left-hand lead angle. The T25M manufacturer grade carbide substrate is coated via CVD with a TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer finish, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. Clamped into the toolholder rather than brazed, this single-end insert is indexed and replaced as a unit when the edge is spent.
This insert is suited for cut-off and parting applications on universal workpiece materials coded OD, making it a general-purpose choice for production turning environments. The chipbreaker designation 16 controls chip formation during narrow groove and parting passes. The 6-degree relief angle supports edge clearance on the cut face. It is a single-use, single-end insert with no reversible cutting edge. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces; each package contains 1 insert.
Designed for use with Series 150.10 clamping toolholders that accept a size code 3 left-hand insert. Consult toolholder documentation to confirm seat geometry before ordering.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the toolholder's rated cutting parameters for depth of cut or feed rate.
