The SECO 74016188 is a CCMX09T308T-MD09 solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling applications. It carries the T25M manufacturer grade, a medium grain carbide substrate, and a CVD-applied TiCN coating engineered for wear resistance and thermal stability during metal removal. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral rake angle and a T-Land cutting edge style. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches and a thickness of 0.1563 inches, it is a compact, high-rigidity insert suited for demanding milling operations in ferrous and exotic materials.
This insert is intended for use in milling operations targeting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials. It is compatible with the SECO R216.19-09 cutter series and is installed as a single-sided, screw-held insert. The MD09 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across the primary and secondary workpiece material categories. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists install this type of insert in production and job shop environments where consistent edge performance and grade repeatability are required.
Designed for use with the SECO R216.19-09 cutter series. ANSI and ISO code CCMX09T308T-MD09. Applicable to steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials per ISO material grades P, M, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder specification without over-torquing, which can crack the insert body. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for debris or damage before seating a new insert.
