The SECO 74016176 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SPMX12T3AP-75 in manufacturer grade T25M. It is a single-sided, square-shaped insert with a neutral rake and a T-Land cutting edge style, finished with a CVD-applied TiCN coating on a medium-grain carbide substrate. With 4 usable cutting edges, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 0.1563 inch thickness, this insert is built for indexable milling operations requiring consistent edge performance and thermal resistance in demanding materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals install and index this insert as part of planned tooling maintenance on compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both production and job-shop environments. The chip breaker designation 75 is optimized for medium-grain cutting conditions across those material families. The insert fits into SECO cutter series R215.49-3, R220.69, and R417.19-3. It is held in place by a screw-type clamping method standard to the SPMX-12 series insert pocket. Applications span face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose material removal where positive engagement and reliable chip control are required across P, M, and S material classifications.

Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standard SPMX12T3AP-75 with insert size code 12T3 and a 0.1496 inch hole diameter for screw-type mounting. Maximum depth of cut is 0.5 inch; cutting edge effective length is 0.5 inch.
Insert indexing and replacement is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before removing or indexing any insert. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before torquing the clamping screw, and verify there is no rocking or gap at the seating faces. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as insert failure under cutting load is a safety hazard.
