The SECO 74016175 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation SPMX0903AP-75 in manufacturer grade T25M. It features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, four usable cutting edges, and a neutral rake and hand orientation. The insert measures 3/8 inches in both length and width with a thickness of 1/8 inches and an inscribed circle of 3/8 inches. A CVD-applied TiCN coating over a medium grain carbide substrate provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of milling applications. The T-Land cutting edge style and 11-degree relief angle are suited for controlled chip formation in demanding cuts.
This insert is designed for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. It fits into the SPMX-09 series and is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. The 75 chip breaker geometry supports medium-depth milling passes up to a maximum depth of cut of 0.3750 inches. Compatible cutter series include R215.39, R215.49-3, and R417.19-3 as listed by the manufacturer. Typical users include CNC machining centers in production, maintenance, and job-shop environments.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician on a powered-down spindle with all machine energy sources locked out per shop safety protocols. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and secure the clamping screw to the cutter body torque specification listed in the cutter manufacturer documentation — do not rely on feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket for wear, chips, or debris before seating a new insert. Index or replace the insert at the first sign of edge wear to avoid workpiece damage or cutter body damage.
