The SECO 74015221 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation SEKN1203AFTN-M14. It is a square-shaped, single-sided insert with a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is coated with TiCN via a CVD process, providing wear resistance in demanding milling operations. It measures 0.5 inches in length and width with a thickness of 0.125 inches, and delivers four usable cutting edges per insert. Designed for use in face milling and shoulder milling applications, this insert is installed and managed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working with milling cutters in the SECO R220.13-12 cutter series.
This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material grade classifications P, M, and S. The T25M manufacturer grade and M14 chip breaker geometry are suited for medium-grain carbide applications where controlled chip formation and edge stability are critical. It fits into wedge clamp insert holding systems and is appropriate for both production and job-shop milling environments where consistent depth-of-cut performance is required. The maximum depth of cut is 0.3465 inches, and the cutting edge effective length is 0.5 inches.
This insert is designated for use with the SECO R220.13-12 cutter series. It carries ANSI and ISO code SEKN1203AFTN-M14 and is compatible with milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the wedge clamp — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for debris or wear before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and edge runout.
